{"id":25,"date":"2010-04-08T07:30:22","date_gmt":"2010-04-07T19:30:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bamba.org.nz\/bambawordpress\/?p=25"},"modified":"2011-09-23T10:07:52","modified_gmt":"2011-09-22T22:07:52","slug":"minutes20100408","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bamba.org.nz\/?p=25","title":{"rendered":"Minutes 8th Apr 2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Location: The Woolshed, Stratton St, Normandale, Lower Hutt.\u00c2\u00a0 7:30pm<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Present<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Steve Elden, Marco Renall, Tyrone McGrath, Ian O\u00e2\u20ac\u2122Donoghue, Chris Wootton-GWRC, Ross Jackson-GWRC.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Apologies<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Matt Clarke<\/p>\n<p>Steve opened the meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Previous minutes accepted.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">General Business<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>BAMBA now have a cheque book with signatories Steve, Marco &amp; Nicole.<\/p>\n<p>Marco was reimbursed $143.50 for Incorporation and working bee morning teas.<\/p>\n<p>Marco has contacted Corrections Dept to ask for labour to help spread the gravel onto Danzig.\u00c2\u00a0 They can supply prisoners but need radio contact.\u00c2\u00a0 Marco will test PNP radios to see if they will work.\u00c2\u00a0 Tyrone will ask Tim O\u00e2\u20ac\u2122Connor if his 4WD\u00c2\u00a0truck can cart the gravel up and down the 4WD\u00c2\u00a0track half way to 5 points that have been marked with stakes by Tyrone and Marco.\u00c2\u00a0 Chris said \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Go ahead\u00e2\u20ac\u009d and ask Grant, his driver.\u00c2\u00a0 GWRC will pay for this.\u00c2\u00a0 Chris advised that he wanted prisoners rather than PD labour, because prisoners perform better.\u00c2\u00a0 Marco will confirm with Corrections.<\/p>\n<p>Working Bee Sunday 25<sup>th<\/sup> April 10am at the top of Danzig.\u00c2\u00a0 We will rake off pine needles before the gravel is spread.<\/p>\n<p>Tyrone to get a price for shovels at Mitre 10 and Bamba\u00c2\u00a0supply cheque or ask Ground Effect.\u00c2\u00a0 Marco advised Ground Effect has already given us $1,000 for tools but a few have gone missing.\u00c2\u00a0 Matt has the wheelbarrow, Marco has 3 mattocks\u00c2\u00a0and Hoz has buried some tools in Danzig forest that we can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t locate.\u00c2\u00a0 Craig has some tools too.<\/p>\n<p>Marco showed the 3 Nature Valley sponsored \u00e2\u20ac\u0153MTB Code of Conduct\u00e2\u20ac\u009d signs and Chris said he would look at installing them but wanted Regional Park consistency.\u00c2\u00a0 Ian explained that they were being installed nationwide in MTB Parks.\u00c2\u00a0 We need to add them to large track map signs at Park entrances.\u00c2\u00a0 We didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t fully resolve this issue and will await comments from Chris.<\/p>\n<p>We asked that the \u00e2\u20ac\u0153MTB Code of Conduct\u00e2\u20ac\u009d be added to GWRC brochures.\u00c2\u00a0 Ross rand me yesterday and said Simon Kennett already had done this.<\/p>\n<p>Tyrone advised that we need trail signage that names the trails, advises direction, shared or MTB only, and length &amp; difficulty.\u00c2\u00a0 He will get a map from Ross and mark it up with help from Steve.<\/p>\n<p>Chris advised that any \u00e2\u20ac\u0153change in service levels\u00e2\u20ac\u009d needed to go through GWRC for their signoff.\u00c2\u00a0 This refers to changing a walking track to an MTB track, or any new tracks planned.<\/p>\n<p>Ian advised that 12 volunteers had signed up to \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Adopt a Trail\u00e2\u20ac\u009d in Wellington.\u00c2\u00a0 We should look to volunteers on a similar basis.\u00c2\u00a0 Marco was happy to adopt Choppers.<\/p>\n<p>Ross advised that the public expectations of trails were rising and that good surfaces were expected on multiuse\u00c2\u00a0trails.\u00c2\u00a0 We therefore need to keep Danzig smooth and graveled\u00c2\u00a0because it is multiuse, but other MTB only trails could be rough.<\/p>\n<p>Tyrone advised that no progress had been made with our website so Marco offered to ask Simon Gwyn at BikeNZ\u00c2\u00a0to help us.\u00c2\u00a0 Simon has agreed to be our webman, big thanks. Simon is the PNP MTB webman.\u00c2\u00a0 Yesterday Marco paid $101 to buy the domain <a href=\"https:\/\/bamba.org.nz\">www.bamba.org.nz<\/a> and included up to 5 email addresses.
