Thanks to Ground Effect

Progress on the Bull Run this weekend was excellent, with a good number of volunteers showing up on such an average morning.  Below are a couple photos showing off some of the tools that have been purchased using the money from the Ground Effect slush fund. A special thanks to these guys who have supported us as well as many other worthy initiatives.

Trail planning meeting

In the near future, currently planned for the 4th July (USA Independence Day), BAMBA will be having a meeting to discuss the short, medium and long term trail plan in the Belmont Regional Park.

This is an opportunity for the organisation and any other interested parties to have a say as to what types of trails will be built, where they will be built and how they will be part of an overall plan to create a trail network, rather than the bespoke design which will occur if not formally planned.

If you would like to contribute then please attend this meeting.  Have a look at the Greater Wellington Parks Network Plan and the specific section relating to Belmont as all work that we do in the region need to take this into consideration.

Please stay tuned for information about the meeting and take the time to think about what you envision the park to become.Trig

Bull Run / AGM

The Bull Run:  This track is progressing well with some great work from the usual hardy trail builders!  There is still some way to go but more hands make for light work so a  quick reminder that the next working bee is scheduled for:  Sunday 19th May. 9am  Weather permitting!  Refer to BAMBA on Facebook for updates also!

AGM:  This is scheduled for Thursday 30th May. 7.30pm  @ the Woolshed. (End of Stratton St, Belmont Regional Park)

Bull Run – Track building / Working Bee.

Sunday 7th April.  –  We have started on the realignment of the lower section of Bull Run and are going very well.   We would love to have volunteers to help us continue this!  Meet 9am on Old Coach Rd at the top of Bull-a-Varde.

If you get to the top of Normandale Rd just before 9am someone will give you a ride in!

Danzig Logging – Another couple of photos

A couple of extra photos from the other side of the valley showing the full extending of the logging operation.  I am really looking forward to marking out new tracks through this area after the logging has completed.  Being able to see the contours and the overall fall of the land will give the tracks a more consistent line for the grade of track that we will be mapping.
