90 years ago this June, a group of people came together for a meeting, and voted to start a club dedicated to cycling in the Wellington region. That Club has changed, amalgamated and grown to serve numerous people over the last 90 years, and is known today as the Port Nicholson Poneke Cycling Club.
On the 11th of June, 90 years after that first meeting was held, we invite members and supporters, both past and present to come together to celebrate.
The programme for the night will include the following;
• Craft beer, wine, non-alcoholic drinks, nibbles and cake
• Speaker: Samara Shepherd
• Speaker: Kate McIlroy
• Speaker: Pete Latham
• Presidents presentation
This auspicious event will be held at Sustainability Trust, 2 Forresters Lane (off Tory Street). The venue is casual and welcoming, the catering will be delish, and the speakers are definitely worth getting off the couch for!
So, in an age where nothing seems to last very long, don’t miss this opportunity to acknowledge the legacy that has gone before, the passion that exists today, and to help ignite an enthusiasm for the Club to propel brightly into the future (all be-it on two wheels).
